January 2012 - MOTORESS.com - KYMCO 300i Downtown Scooter Review - Everything's Waiting for You
The Downtown's lighter weight and is truly noticed with its extra ease of handling! Don't let the size fool you! This ride is perfect for commuting through the urban jungle. With its CVT transmission you have the expected twist and "go now" result.
On the highway, the Downtown performs extremely well at cruising speeds! There's a terrific sense of security all around you and its windscreen size ample enough to deter discomfort. Click here to read the entire article.
September 2011 - atvtrailriderweb.com - Kymco Maxxer 450i: Joy ride!
As far as looks are concerned, this one truly takes the cake. It is nice to see such a fresh and original look, with influences seemingly taken from anywhere but competing ATV manufacturers. Stylish and colourful, the Maxxer 450i also gains in advanced technology, with a new Electronic Fuel Injection system, which gives it a crisp and smooth feel at the tip of the thumb. The Maxxer 450i's new injection system feeds an optimal fuel air mixture in the engine's combustion chamber. It is preferred to the carburetor for improved engine performance, in all weather conditions and at any altitude. Improved fuel economy, lower emissions and extra low and mid-range power can also be expected. Click here to read the entire article.
August 2011 - atvtrailriderweb.com - Mad Bastard Scooter Rally Review
My total fuel cost for the whole event was under $13. My ride lasted 17 hours, and would have been longer had I chosen to do the bonus loop as well.
Riding the MBSR is more than just mental and physical endurance. It's more than costumes, challenges and clues. It's more than the $15,000 raised in charity for Kids Help Phone. It calls on riders to become reacquainted with the essence of motorized two-wheeled transport, providing freedom, adventure and a bit of madness. Click here to read the entire article.
July 2011 - cmgonline.com - Mad Bastard Scooter Rally Review
The Rally is held every two years. The location varies among different host sites in Ontario and the fact that the winner would receive a brand new KYMCO motor scooter certainly was an attraction.
To be entered as a "rallyist," you must be riding a scooter; that being roughly defined as a two-wheel vehicle that you "step through" to mount. To offset advantages held by larger capacity scooters the rally is divided into classes, each one having a different time in which to finish the route – the bigger the scooter, the shorter the time. July 2011 - moto123.com - Mad Bastard Scooter Rally Review
It wasn't until I was asked to not only cover, but also compete in the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally, that I questioned whether I had it in me. All it takes is a couple minutes on the MBSR website to realize that I'm not even moving the needle when it comes to crazy.
What is the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally, you ask? Combine your traditional motorcycle rally with a grueling 800-km endurance race against the clock, but replace said motorcycles with scooters of various age and displacement. Sleep deprivation, darkness, poor weather, mechanical (or possibly mental) breakdown, collision with wild animals, running out of fuel and getting lost are all very realistic obstacles. June 2011 - atvmag - KYMCO UXV 500i Review
Surprisingly, the results of our testing put it on a pedestal right up there with the Ranger 400. It handles really well and the addition of EFI noticeably improves throttle response. Its equipment list is extensive and it's decked out with just about everything you could want in your ride.
The EFI model is still priced less than an equally equipped Ranger 400. For those interested in extra bling, the UXV also comes in a fully jammed SE version and there are plenty of Kolpin accessories available for aftermarket purchase. Click here to read the entire article.
June 2011 - motorcycle-usa.com - KYMCO UXV 500i Review and Video
Kymco knows the potential of the side-by-side market and has tapped into that growing demographic with the UXV 500i. This updated machine is based on the existing UXV 500 platform, but gets a dose of technology with new fuel injection. Adding EFI helps make the 500 powerplant more versatile. If nothing else it's just easier to use with hassle-free starting in extremes, or following a tip-over, and clean fueling regardless of altitude and weather conditions. Fortunately, it's more than simple convenience. We had a carbureted version on hand and could easily tell that the 500i has better throttle response, runs smoother and has more power. Fuel delivery is crisper and that helps give the driver a better connection from their foot to the wheels.

May 2011 - atvmag.com - KYMCO Maxxer 450i Review
Kymco just rocked our world with the introduction of a peppy new fuel injected 450cc engine available in the same chassis as its downsized MXU and Maxxer ATV.
We've been impressed with everything Kymco has been bringing to market lately from the 375 mill intro'd a few short years back to its UXV side-x-side (now available with a fuel injected 500 - sweet!).
This new 450cc mill though adds some serious legs to these scaled-down ATVs. The MXU is a powerful and capable utility ATV. Load up the racks with all your gear and this quad will get you from the trailer to the hunt camp over just about any terrain and will get you there quick! Not a hunter? Just hit the trails whenever and you'll come back with a smile on your face.

April 2011 - moto123.com - KYMCO MXU 500i IRS Review
More of a workhorse than a pleasure pony, the old solid-axle MXU 500 needed to up the ante in terms of comfort, stability
and ergonomics. It has matured since then, and today has got everything a trail rider could ask for, thanks mainly to the
new IRS chassis and direct injection engine. Presenting the latest evolution of Kymco's utility ATV: the 2011 MXU 500i IRS.
Though at first glance it looks like a carbon copy of its forerunner, the new MXU 500i IRS is built on an all-new four-wheel independent
suspension developed with Arctic Cat. Engineers have also created more efficient shock absorbers and included a rear sway bar to maintain
a certain overall firmness, increasing cornering stability by the same token.

March 2011 - moto123.com - KYMCO Maxxer 450i Review
Critically acclaimed for its stability and capability, the Maxxer chassis with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) seemed like
an ideal platform to receive a more modern and more powerful engine. Say hello to the 2011 Kymco Maxxer 450i.
While the design won't surprise you, this Taiwanese ATV stays fresh and attractive. The race-inspired looks, wide, sports car-like
grille and upswept, underseat exhaust still get the job done from a visual standpoint.

February 2011 - moto123.com - KYMCO UXV 500 EFI Review
The Taiwanese giant couldn’t ignore the public’s infatuation with side-by-side UTVs. With the new 2011 UXV 500i, Kymco is set to conquer a new segment, where
the outdoor enthusiast is king. Great modern styling combines with traditional lines, serving up a dollop of original cues such as the beautiful aviation-type
fuel cap and pickup-like bed. The litte UTV has inherited many mechanical aspects from the MXU 500i ATV. This strategic synergy enables the manufacturer to
offer more affordable products ($10,495 for the UXV 500i) than its Japanese rivals ($2,000 to $4,000 more expensive) with pricing closer to the American models
like Polaris’s Ranger 500 ($10,999), the least expensive on the market.

August 2010 - moto123.com - KYMCO Xciting 500Ri Review
The 500Ri projects a classic, rather sober style, allied with excellent component and fit and finish. The elongated seat sets the tone, and the headlights
add a touch of slenderness to the overall allure. Of the three available colours, metallic grey, black or white, the latter gives it a distinctly contemporary
flair.

July 2010 - CMGONLINE.COM - Report Card: KYMCO Super 8 2T
The KYMCO Super 8 2T is an air-cooled, 2 stroke, 49.5cc sporty scooter and is one of four fifties in the current KYMCO line. It replaces the Super 9
(which is a little odd as the numbers seem to be on a backward trend) though the spec sheet is similar, save for larger 14-inch wheels on the Eight.

July 2010 - MOTO123.COM - 2010 Kymco Super 8 50cc Review
Well-built and reasonably priced, this 50cc Taiwanese scooter offers an interesting alternative for mostly urban use. What’s more, the braking system puts the
competition to shame, capable of stopping the little machine on a dime and adding to rider safety...
At $2,645 and including a two-year warranty, the KYMCO
Super 8 is a sure thing where city scooters are concerned. Thanks to its handling, comfort level and ultra-efficient brakes, it enjoys a clear advantage over
less expensive Asian rivals. This little ride simply offers better value for your money. Click here to read the entire article.
July/August 2010 - ATV Trail Rider - First Contact: KYMCO MXU 500i IRS IRS
We agreed, after our relatively short time spent with this road and trail ready MXU 500i IRS IRS, that it was a great deal for anyone’s money. KYMCO is obviously
learning fast in this highly competitive motorsport segment and despite still having a few things that could be improved, the quality is truly there. We
actually found it to be a very logical choice of ride for any beginning ATV rider on a tight budget or as a second quad for friends and family. Fact is,
at this low MSRP of $7,995.00 Canadian dollars, it is tough to find such a complete and appealing package for so little, of course, if you intend on buying new...

March 2010 - MOTORESS.COM - 2010 International Female Ride Day: riding to success!
The 2010 International Female Ride Day is just a few months away and women all over the world are getting prepared for the global occasion. More countries are
expected to join in and more women are setting up activities for Friday May 7th. “Even more women are riding this year, as you might well imagine, this is the
campaigns 4th year. This event is quite simply, unstoppable! The word continues to spread and women enthusiastically prepare to ride and unite everywhere on
this synchronized day around the world!” says Vicki Gray, the founder of the International Female Ride Day and of MOTORESS. Countries that joined in during
earlier years have also gained momentum and continue to increase local activities. “We are certainly riding to success as each year we see a truly
insurmountable growth from the years’ prior! Even the hallmark ride day t-shirt for 2010 is already in demand”, she adds.

KYMCO Frost 200i - Jamie Leonard
There's something about the look of the Frost that is just a bit ... devilish. It starts out all shiny metal and sleek plastic but it has a sinister undertone
that leaves you with the impression that if you turn your back on it for a moment it'll steal your wallet and take your Granny out on a weekend bender.
But at least as you bail her out of jail after a night of debauchery and ask her about her new tattoos, you'll get some compliments on your scooter. Click here to read the whole story.

KYMCO People S 125 - People Pleaser - Vicki Gray
Often I'm puzzled at the origins of the KYMCO product names—“Bet & Win”, “Frost”, “Vitality”. Certainly, when looking deeper into the characteristics of the
motorcycle it becomes clearer, as was the case when testing the People 125cc. I came to appreciate-- it's a genuine “People Pleaser”.
Riders' pleasure is the consequence on this model due namely to a characteristic setting it apart from others—16 inch (40 cm) “big wheels”. This larger
diameter truly produces improved motorbike handling and comfort versus that of the standard 12 in wheel size characteristic of most scooters (the People 50
cc also has “big wheels).Click here to read the whole story.

XCITING Discoveries on KYMCO's 500Ri - Vicki Gray
The era of the scooter and its grown up version the "maxi scooter" is upon us causing us to re-associate the term scooter; this category of two wheelers no
longer represents something small or amateurish. Scooters have joined in on the advances of technology and harnessed power that in today's world is what is
truly "Xciting" about the KYMCO 500Ri. Make no mistake, manufacturers KWANG YANG MOTOR CO LTD in Taiwan have produced a maxi scooter that feels, performs and
rides just like a regular motorcycle-minus the gear shifting activity-its automatic. Click here to read the whole story.
It would be an understatement to say that the 2009 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally was a success. The weekend went off without a hitch, the rain held out, and riders participated in what has been called the best Mad Bastard Scooter Rally to date! Here we'll link you to all the post-rally web buzz which includes articles written about the event, video uploads, as well as links to photos. A special thanks to everyone who participated in the rally and made it the success that it was! See you all in 2011!
September 2009 - Dirt Trax Magazine / All-Terrain Vehicle Magazine
Review of the UXV-500, now replaced by the UXV-500i with Fuel-Injection: We were pleased with its aggressive
cornering ability and superb stability while at play in the facility's gravel pit. Even in a tire-deep mucky bog,
the KYMCO easily pulled us through to the other side. Its steady throttle (foot pedal) control was also inspiring.

Mad Bastard Scooter Rally 2009 - Behind the Curtain - Rob Harris
The 2009 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally is now history, but what a piece of history it was! Here's my story of how the event went off from behind the curtains .
This year was particularly resplendent with nut jobs dressed up as superheroes (ranging from Scooterman to Toiletman to Fairyman), the Blues Bothers,
a gaggle of parker-coated and Union Jack emblazoned mods, a "man-catcher" and, of course, Elvis! There was also a strong jungle theme with one team
consisting of a monkey and two bananas (Team Go Bananas) and another rider in a full-blown and slightly menacing gorilla suit - complete with basket of
bananas on the back....Click here to read the whole story.

When Good Scooters Go Bad - Andrew Meeson
Two guys riding scooters with their underpants on the outside of their jeans isn't something you see everyday. But Lisa Hubers, whose family runs the Top of
the Mountain ATV rental about 160 km west of Ottawa, didn't even bat an eye when Team Death Star rolled up to her doorstep unannounced last Saturday during
the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally....Click here to read the whole story.

Scooter Rally Man Catcher Madness but Always Time for Lipstick - Vicki Gray
I've got to say that was the craziest fun I've had in a long time-huge kudos to Rob Harris of CMG for coming up with the entire idea! Thanks to KYMCO Canada
for their major role as main sponsor and rally assist. The event was a total blast! I am entirely addicted and can't wait until the next one-2011! I didn't
tell you that my "Mad" entry was as the "Man Catcher".... Click here to read the whole story.

Mad Kitty Wins Mad Bastard - Carol Anne Mandekic
So, in the end - who was the maddest of all the bastards? The winner of the 2009 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally, winning the grand prize of a KYMCO Super 9 AC
scooter, was Ben Yu Schott (Straight Jacket Class), also known as "Mad Kitty", and scoring 921 points out of a possible 1000. Mad Kitty dared to ride the MBS
Rally on a 1963 Honda C100 (earning him major points for age of the scooter) and made it in just under the 23 hour mark. His average speed for those 23 hours:
33km/h! Click here to read the whole story.

Mad Bastard Scooter Rally a Success! - Rob Harris
The 2009 Mad Bastard Scooter Rally held at the Four Points in Gatineau,
Quebec this weekend past was a great success. Madness reigned
supreme as gorillas, a monkey and two bananas, various superheroes
and a team of dirty girls with blow-up sex dolls (amongst others) headed
into the darkness in the early hours of Saturday for a 749 km route through
western Quebec and eastern Ontario. Of the 75 riders that registered, 72
made it to the starting tent, with 59 eventually limping back to base within
their class time limits. This year's overall winner was Ben Yu Schott (aka
Mad Kitty) who managed to tally up an incredible 921 points out of a
possible 1000, covering the distance in 22 and a half hours on his 1963
Honda C100. Click here to read the whole story.
